The theoretical aspects cover topics such as the importance of good leadership and the skills required to be a good leader. We use a range of thought provoking activities to practice leadership skills. Mapping a cave complex where 2 teams are sent in from opposite sides of the complex practices motivation techniques, communication skills and interpretation of information. Navigating a team over rough terrain is another activity that practices similar techniques.

The aim of any team building course is to ensure that either a new or existing team(s) work better together. The pre course consultancy identifies the strengths and areas requiring development. The delegates investigate the importance of working as an effective team and the interpersonal skills required to be a good team member. They use these findings to take an objective view of how their team worked. Activities that can be used to improve teamwork include orienteering, the assault course or kayaking.

The theory of coaching is designed to explain why this method is so effective by looking at the background and psychology of the technique. The practical activities explore and demonstrate the different models that can be used. Exercises such as archery can be used to practice the methods in a 1-2-1 relationship whereas raft building can provide an enjoyable way of practicing the skills required for coaching a team.
We expect to address time and resource management within each course as these are always the most precious of commodities within any organisation. Formal theoretical methodologies are explored and then practiced by setting tight but realistic time and resource parameters for the relevant practical exercises.
